UKCEN pre-conference workshop 2026, principally but not exclusively for members of clinical ethics committees

04/06/2026

UKCEN Pre-conference Workshop, Thursday pm 4th June 2026

"Ethical Challenges at the Intersection of Religion and Healthcare"

Council Chamber
Cardiff University Main Building
Park Place
Cardiff
CF10 3AT

The aim of the workshop is to help attendees develop their knowledge of various religious aspects of healthcare so that they can better understand patient needs and how these might relate to ethical challenges when caring for them. The workshop will include short talks from chaplains representing a range of faith traditions on healthcare aspects particularly important to their religious communities. Participants will be able to ask questions to the chaplains, share their own experiences in caring for patients from various faith backgrounds, or explain important customs of their own religious communities, if they so wish. It is hoped that by then end of the workshop attendees will feel better prepared to deal with ethical dilemmas on the intersection of religion and healthcare.
