What makes an effective clinical ethics committee?

A half day workshop from 1:30pm to 5:00pm will be held on the 27 June 2019 at The Kaetsu Centre.

This will focus on what makes an effective clinical ethics committee.

Places on the workshop are limited so book early. Please note there is a fee of £30 on registration for the pre-conference workshop however if you are a member of an ethics committee that has subscribed to UKCEN (period 1st April 2019 - 31st March 2020) this fee will be refunded following attendance at the event. 

Aims of the Workshop
· To consider the barriers and facilitators for developing and implementing an effective clinical ethics service in an NHS Trust.  
· To explore the role of the CEC in supporting  health care professionals experiencing moral distress.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the workshop delegates should be able to:
· Describe key barriers and facilitators to  embedding a CEC in an NHS Trust
· Identify action points for improving effectiveness of your own CEC
· Understand the concept of moral distress, and how it may relate to ethical challenges for health care professionals 
· Consider how a CEC can influence policy and practice to reduce moral distress in the health care professionals it supports
